Jane works in Switzerland but after finding that the house prices were very expensive she decided to move across the border to Alsace.

 I work in Switzerland, but the housing there is very expensive and very small - no garden no privacy. So, I moved across the border to Alsace.

Which part of France do you live in, and what's it like to live there?
Alsace. It is very cold in the winter, the locals speak Alsatian (a German dialect), and are very kind.

What is your age?
I was born in 1962.

What was the worst mistake you made when buying in France?
None - I have been delighted with everything. I have lived in 6 different countries in the last 15 years and this is the first place I have ever considered settling.

Your best tip or advice to other people considering moving to France?
See places in person as soon as you can - the internet is just a starting place.

Did you find it hard to integrate or adjust to your new life in France and do you have any tips to help others?
Never compare your new home with England - you are the stranger and it is your responsibility to fit in - not theirs! Learn as much French as you can, smile often and be patient.

What's the best thing about living in France?
The space - the endless green forests and people who love food.

And the worst?
France telecom and EDF.
