
Les Arcs
With an altitude of starting at 810m and rising to 3,800 metres Les Arcs is the ultimate ski and snow resort. A purpose built resort Les Arcs is situated on the edge of the beautiful Vanoise National Park in the Savoie department of the Rhone Alpes, perfect for both beginners and the more experienced skier, it is also widely regarded as the home of snowboarding in Europe.The resort is made up of four small intimate villages offering a range of accommodation from traditional mountain chalets to more modern but with a traditional twist apartments.
There is a broad mix of both on and off piste skiing as well as ski instruction for beginners. Les Arcs also boasts the longest ski run in the world, the run starts at the Aguille Rouge which has splendid views across the peaks of Chamonix and of the Mont Blanc glaciers and finally takes you down for four miles to the pretty hamlet of Le Pré.
