The
major resort on the Vendee coastline, facing the Island of Yeu, Saint-Jean-de-Monts
is renowned for its sandy beaches, more than 8km long, and due to its often low
tides, also offers a great area for walkers, fishermen, and beach games.The town is noteworthy for the recent restoration of its seafront, a vast town planning operation taking over five years to complete. The hugely successful resul t now means a network of footpaths and cycle tracks are enhanced by an array of plants, flowers and shrubs.
Pathways and paths between the sea, the sand dunes, the forest and the marshes are great to get around by foot, bicycle, rollerblade, horse, scooter and even by sand-yacht! The nautical club offers traditional nautical activities and the golfers will also enjoy teeing up on an amazing golf course, just 300 metres from a 15 km long sandy beach. The course is situated in a quiet, pristine surrounding, close to a 700-hectare forest with cycle paths and walking trails. All of which make it ideal for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday.
