La Baule can offer just about everything you could ever want from a holiday by the sea. All along this gorgeous sandy stretch you'll find opportunities for water sports galore, while for the young ones there's a great variety of children's clubs providing endless games and entertainment.

Not all the fun is confined to the beach. Tennis, go-carting, horse riding and golf are just four of the activities that are particularly well catered for. Western Loire is blessed with many wonderful golf courses, and the area immediately around La Baule hosts two of the very best: Golf de la Baule and Golf de la Bretesche. The resort also has both spa baths and a thalassotherapy centre. Naturally there is also an excellent choice of bars, cafes and restaurants, and if you fell lucky at any time during your stay, you'll find more than 200 slot machines plus all the traditional table games at Casino de la Baule.

Finally the Tropicarium Bonsai is a wonderful place to get immersed in the world of decorative Japanese trees.

Pouliguen bay, its beach and the sea front: Visitors can also walk along the harbour where the yachtsmen meet each other and have a break on the picturesque promenade of the marina, with its pool, shops and merry-go-rounds. Further on, there is a sandy beach where a prodigious panorama of the bay will certainly stun onlookers. It is often described as one of the most beautiful in Europe. Narrow old streets with its original houses from another century, or even the conviviality of its green park, in which many festive events are organized will also enchant visitors.
