The
Limousin region is made up of three departments: Corrèze, Creuse and
Haute-Vienne. Its capital Limoges is famous for its porcelain and the white
kaolin clay used to manufacture it.The Limousin is one of the most least populated regions of France its landscape is one of unspoilt upland pastures, forests and lakes - it is also known as the land of a thousand lakes. Its main industries include beef farming, china ware and tourism.
The Limousin has also become well known for arts & crafts and has many museums dedicated to decorative arts. The area is also popular with tourists who come for its range of outdoor activities and water sports.
The climate of the Limousin is one of mild winters with warm summers and on average around eight hours of sunshine a day in the summer.
