Champagne
Ardenne is situated in the northeast of France which borders Belgium and
comprises of the departments Aube, Ardennes, Haute-Marne and Marne. Champagne
Ardenne is most famous for its sparkling wine Champagne. It is a beautiful
landscape of deep forests and vast plains and boasts 10,000 hectares of
waterways and lakes making it a popular area for water sports.Notable towns and cities are Reims which is well known for its gothic cathedral of Notre-Dame, where at one time all the kings of France were crowned. Troyes is a pretty town with half timber framed houses and a beautiful cathedral which is situated on the Seine river in the Aube department and Epernay the Champagne making centre where you can see the famous wine being made.
The climate in Champagne Ardenne varies enormously but tends to be one of crisp cold winters with plenty of snow and warm wet summers with up to 40 inches of rain per year.
