The
Centre region of France is made up of six departments: Cher, Eure-et-Loir, Indre,
Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher and Loiret. It has a varied and beautiful landscape and is home to the Loire Valley which is known as the Garden of France and was declared a World Heritage for Humanity Site by UNESCO owing to its beautiful landscape and historical cities and towns. The Loire valley is an outstanding area of natural beauty and well known for its many Châteaux and mild micro climate.
Notable towns in Centre include Blois which is situated on the banks of the Loire river and Tours known for its gothic style cathedral and its old town Le Vieux Tours a bustling pretty area full of of half framed timber houses cafes and restaurants.
