Cold water supply "en plastique"

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to flush our toilet.....

This came about when we visited our farmhouse in the Dordogne during the summer. The existing water supply feeds the kitchen and there is another branch outside that runs more than 20 metres to feed the bathroom at the other end of the house.

After 10 years of faithful service we suddenly lost water pressure and to our horror found the bathroom pipe had rusted away. So unfortunately for us no water for our loo.

We are keen D.I.Yers and in England we have seen plastic water pipes used for cold water supply. Is it possible to run internal pipework in France "en plastique"? It would be a great help to us to find out and will save us on plumbing costs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
