Following the seizure of one of their vessels by French port authorities over non payment of taxes the cross channel ferry operator SpeedFerries Limited has gone in to administration and all Channel crossings up until the 19th November have been cancelled.
It is hoped that the acting administrators Angela Swarbrick and Tom Burton will be able to sell the company as a going concern but any customers with pre booked tickets after the 18th are asked to wait for further information that will be posted on the SpeedFerries website or by telephoning the customer services line on (UK) 0871 222 7456

... So sorry to hear this. They are a superb company to deal with, and were the ones who brought cross channel ferry prices down to an affordable level. They deserve all the support they can get. I wish them well and hope they will be back in operation very soon. |

... We greatly miss Speed Ferries. We've just travelled by cattle-truck ferry (Calais-Dover) and it was HORRIBLE! Speed Ferries was such good value and an excellent service. What a shame no-one could be found to take them over. |
