Oliver Watson from Manchester has beaten thousands of French plumbers to win the prestigious Meilleur Apprenti de France at the French Senate in Paris. Oliver who is 26 entered the competition while completing a 6 month plumbing course in Marseille.

Oliver said that three years ago he quit his college design course in Manchester and went to stay with his parents who had moved to Marseille, while he was staying with his parents he took the opportunity to train as a plumber and so found himself entering the competition.   Ironically Oliver is currently working for a plumbing firm in Manchester, he will travel to France to receive his award from President Sarkosy at a special celebration dinner in September.
