French Police accused of racial intolerance and brutality


French police have been accused of using extreme force and brutality on women and children who were protesting against their earlier eviction from a block of flats in Paris where they had set up home. The women were of African origin and President Nicolas Sarkozy has come under fire for his new government proposals which target immigrants & gypsies 'suspected of crimes'.

The video was shot on the 21st of July and one scene shows police dragging a mother along the floor while she has a baby visibly attached to her back, in an another scene a pregnant women appears to be laying on the floor unconscious.

Jean-Baptiste Eyraud, Spokesman for 'The Right to a Roof' said "When I saw those pictures I must say I was shocked. I didn't think such a level of brutality was possible. To launch against babies and pregnant women... it's violent."
