Hello

I live in the South West of France - just 60 kms inland from Biarritz - with DIY husband and young adult kids who are still cluttering up (literally) the second floor of our farmhouse.  We moved out 6 years ago and I work with local estate agents to help people find and buy property.

I will be blogging about my life as a DIY assistant, mum, estate agent and wannabee crafter and hope you will enjoy being part of my life.

Today, as on all Mondays, my youngest and I are out of bed for 6.15 so that he can get the train to Bordeaux, where he attends the International School and is revving up for AS levels.  The car is sparkly and we hunt furiously for the antifreeze and have to settle for wielding the fish slice on the windscreen.  The station office is packed with teenagers and luggage and strangely dressed parents.  It is, after all, very early.  The stationmaster dons his hat, picks up his bat (for whacking unruly passengers?) and his torch.  Everyone on the platform rushes for the doors and pushes.  Will disappears off into the morning and the parents crack out the cigarettes and complain about new legislation which forces them to smoke outside.  The station master has a fag too and nods.

I get back home to discover husband and eldest still in bed.  Poke them and open the computer to see if there are any enquiries.  One for my house for sale in town!  Must trim the photos as they are all currently huge.  Husband descends stairs, bleeding profusely, and wants to do his French homework.   We get our teeth into 'the Avoir thing' and are making some progress when a huge lorry passes the office window.  I had forgotten the gravel was being delivered today.  Blood is still oozing from Geoff's shaving cuts and the driver asks if I am violent...  I leave Geoff to practice his French on the driver and return to the computer only to discover my eldest has found his former best friend online.  Dave is out in Egypt learning diving.  He claims he is living with two prostitutes (that is NOT what his mother told me) and can smoke and drink freely.  Apparently you are hung for watching porn.....  I wonder out loud why he would be watching porn anyhow if he were living with two prostitutes.  My eldest's eyes revolve in a very Homer Simpson like way.....

More tomorrow!

HI Janet,
Thanks for your nice comment on my blog! I'm enjoying yours. We just beat you out of bed on Mondays - grim isn't it. However, there are advantages to getting rid of our two teens for the week! Good luck and looking forward to finding out what you get up to as time goes by.
Amitiés, Stephanie
