Enter the Twilight zone - two by twoPosted by: fizzle |
By accident I found a new walk through the forest a while ago - well there's not a lot else to do round here. The path follows a circular route which is a bit more interesting than walking there and back if you know what I mean.
Anyway...
Day 1
I take the path through the woods, miles from any habitation and there in front of me in the path are two black rabbits. This in it's self is odd because they're black, because I've never seen a rabbit here in 3 years and because my 2 Jack Russell terriers never batted an eye lid almost as though the rabbits were invisible. I stopped and the rabbits wandered up on to the bank a few feet away and just sat there looking at me while I took a photo.
Day 2
Somewhat intrigued I take the same route hoping to see the rabbits again. I get to the exact same spot but no rabbits today. Feeling slightly disappointed I'm about to carry on down the path when I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. Sitting on the bank were two Labrador retrievers one black the other light. Again my two dogs didn't bat an eye which is really strange as normally the mere sight of another dog and they're both foaming at the mouth.
Day 3
Even more intrigued I take the route again. I get to the exact same spot in the path and there are 2 goats. Again the dogs didn't take any notice. Spooky!
Day 4
I'm wondering what the hell I'm going to see there this time. I hurry along the route camera ready in anticipation and when I finally get to the spot in the path there were two French cyclists (wearing full kit) sitting on the bank bikes at their feet - needless to say I didn't take their photos, although the dark haired one did look rather fit... but I'm digressing so back to the point, what are the chances of seeing all these things in the same spot on consecutive days, miles from anywhere?...dodo do do dodo!
